3D Printing

Medicine Hat College has purchased and commissions a Stratasys Fortus 400mc 3D printer and Faro EdgeArm and Laser Tracker for scanning. The printer uses Fused Deposition Modeling and is able to produce a variety of prototypes and end use parts out of a number of thermoplastics. The scanning equipment can be used for a variety of applications such as reverse engineering of existing parts, creation of models to archve unique parts, or providing models for mold making. This equipment that is housed at the college is used by students, faculty, and industry.

APEX Alberta
is the regional innovation network for the technology sector in Southeast Alberta. This network is made up of public, education and non-profit organizations who offer access to assistance, resources, networking and training/workshops for anyone in the region interested in technology.
