The Province of Alberta has enjoyed one of the hottest housing markets in Canada. Homes in the Southeast Region continue to be reasonably priced. A significant advantage to live in the area is the cost of housing. According to Todd Hirsch, senior economist for ATB Financial, Medicine Hat has the second lowest municipal property taxes in Alberta (September 2010).
