EDA Thanks its Hospitable Volunteers

Acknowledging the vital contributions of our volunteers, National Volunteer Week presents the Economic Development Alliance of Southeast Alberta an opportunity to recognize and thank the individuals who serve on our boards and committees, assist with industry events and promote the savvy economic climate in Southeast Alberta; because of their time, energy, skills and commitment we are able to support our stable region and provide the necessary knowledge and resources to diversify and create sustainability.
“Without the input of the smart members of our advisory boards we would not be able to respond as quickly to industry risks and opportunities, said Tracy Heebner, Business Development Officer for the EDA. “The knowledge and commitment to the region that they bring to the table is priceless, and is ensuring the success of savvy Southeast Alberta."
National Volunteer Week is celebrated the week of April 18th-24th; initially proclaimed in 1943 to raise awareness of women’s contributions during the war, in the mid 1960s it was re-established and expanded to embody all community volunteers. The EDA’s success is impacted by the guidance and insight from its volunteer board and technical advisory committees, which link us to industries such as: agriculture, energy, transportation and technology. Mindful that their contributions exist year round, the organization thanks each individual for their hard work and dedication.
