New Technologies Carve Niche Market in Waste Management.

July 6, 2010, Medicine Hat Alberta… Kenmore Holdings Inc diversified to remain a leader in the waste management industry; by utilizing new technologies and streamlining the process, they entered the niche markets of the shallow gas swabbing and production solids waste disposal sector. Reducing costs by creating a process of infield solidification and decreasing carbon emissions from double transportation of solids; Kenmore Holdings utilizes leading edge chemistry and microbiology, combined with their diversified experience in mechanical and process design, to remain competitive in waste management and the stable energy industry in southeast Alberta.

“We noticed a growing trend within the waste management industry; traditional methods of waste management had become stagnant and were not promoting innovation and new emerging technologies,” said Tyrel Kenmore, president of Kenmore Holdings Inc.  “There was little to no motivation for change with the established companies, this provided an opportunity for us to carve a niche market. The constant development of new technologies is the key to making our company a leader in industrial waste management.”

Kenmore Holdings invests in research and development to continue to expand and eliminate environmental liabilities; projects they are involved in and focused on developing solutions for include:  infield heavy oil upgrading, municipal slurry solidifications, on-site hydro vac solidification, oil recovery from tank bottoms, bitumen tailings reduction and elimination.

“Streamlining company processes while diversifying operations is important in today’s economic climate,” said Pete Loignon, innovation facilitator for the Economic Development Alliance of Southeast Alberta.  “To stay competitive companies need to utilize the new technologies that are emerging. Innovation in southeast Alberta is present and evolving, however, it’s up to individuals to embrace the change and make the choice to diversify; Kenmore Holdings positioned themselves in the forefront of innovation and was able to create a niche market, which is allowing them to expand and grow.”

Pete is working alongside Kenmore Holdings to assist them in getting access to scientists, funding for their research and streamlining their processes. There is no cost to his services. Funding from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) and the EDA makes it possible for Pete to assist savvy companies grow in southeast Alberta.
