Published on September 28, 2010
September 28, 2010, Medicine Hat Alberta...Currently in the beta testing stage, Auto~Star Compusystems Inc. is preparing to launch WebPoint Report Studio to retailers in the fourth quarter of 2010. This system, used with Auto~Star’s Star~Plus point of sale software, allows retailers the ability to evaluate critical store information from the internet. WebPoint combines established web reporting with the power of business intelligence tools, offering instantaneous access to real-time store information through a web browser.
“This solution is ideal for small to medium sized retailers, as analytical data in this type of format is typically available only for corporations with large budgets and technical expertise,” said Robert Symmonds, President of Auto~Star.
WebPoint uses state-of-the-art technology to offer a full-featured, comprehensive solution that’s unique to the retail marketplace. Technologies included are: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 R2, Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise, Bing and Microsoft Office 2010. Auto~Star is a Microsoft Gold Certified partner; provided priority access to new product launches, updates and betas, enabling them to be at the forefront of innovation.
“As a business in the technology industry, it is important to anticipate change and stay on top of the latest retail trends,” said Robert Symmonds, President of Auto~Star. “We pay close attention to our customer’s needs, including sales drivers, customer retention, and overall trends in retail and technology. We review our competitors’ products and ensure we stay ahead of the curve and continue to be an innovator, not a follower.”
Based in Medicine Hat, Auto~Star’s customers include some prestigious pharmacy chains and institutions such as Rexall, IDA, MIT, Harvard and Yale. Their export markets are primarily in the United States, and the Caribbean; however, they are pursuing expansion, specifically in Australia, by establishing a network of qualified retailers.
Auto~Star’s primary exports include point of sale and retail management software as well as technical support services from their local call centre.
