Published on December 21, 2010

December 21, 2010, Medicine Hat Alberta...Form-Tech Machining has an ability to reduce manufacturing costs that increases their customer’s profitability. Form-Tech is experienced in providing high-tolerance machined components to the unmanned vehicle systems (UVS) sector. Their expertise is being employed by MEGGITT Training Systems and Amtech Aeronautical Limited.

“We work with all kinds of steels, aluminums, plastics, plasma cutting tables, we have half a dozen CNC cutters and we can do sheet metal work, among other things,” said Ryan Hazelaar, manager for Form-Tech Machining and Fabrication. “With Amtech specifically, we’re involved in explosive testing, we build different containers and do a fair bit of portable welding at the Canadian Forces Base-Suffield.

Products provided by Form-Tech are mostly built with stainless steel and aluminum, ensuring that it doesn’t rust and is able to survive in the elements- whether air, land or sea.  Remaining at the forefront of technology, Form-Tech has recently purchased new computerized equipment, expanding their capabilities and diversifying their operations.

Form-Tech employs machinists, welders and labourers enabling them to perform specialty services such as: reading and interpreting drawings, performing manual and CNC machining, monitoring quality control, grinding parts, fitting and assembling metal pieces and operating equipment which includes MIG, TIG and stick welders and oxygen/acetylene.

“We are able to build whatever it is they send us as a drawing, we look at it and then custom design it; overall we’re saving them money,” said Brian Hallick, owner of Form-Tech Machining and Fabrication.
