New Innovation Facilitator Brings International Knowledge to Local Businesses

January 05, 2010, Medicine Hat Alberta...Offering businesses in southeast Alberta access to expertise in areas such as economic development, finance and enterprise, strategic planning and export, Alain Lamothe joins the Economic Development Alliance of Southeast Alberta as the Innovation Facilitator.
With over 32 years of experience in consulting for small and medium sized businesses and government agencies, Lamothe has managed a diverse portfolio of projects- internationally. Responsible for writing over 700 business, marketing and strategic plans, Lamothe has worked for major international consulting companies and wrote numerous feasibility studies such as: diamond cutting and polishing, laparoscopy techniques and equipments and implementation of venture capital funds in Quebec.
“All the expertise and knowledge I’ve acquired over these years, as well as the exposure, will be beneficial to companies in southeast Alberta. I’ve re-organized government financing and private business practices for the United Nations & Canadian Agency for Cooperation and Development- Congo and Burkina Faso, implemented economic development office procedures in Russia and worked as the industrial commissioner and economic developer in Quebec,” said Lamothe.
Lamothe has worked in various fields such as: transportation, manufacturing, agriculture and retail. He can assist businesses in finding financial aid in the form of grants, loans, investors, tax credits as well as in areas such as: start-up, expansion and growth, research and development and high tech mentoring and advice.
Experienced in multiple aspects of company operations, Lamothe explains that overall he is able to help companies with the five major business functions: management, human resources, marketing, production and finances.
Alain holds various degrees in business and science including: Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of Business Administration (Finance) and Doctor of Science in Business Administration. Accreditations include: Accredited Certified Administrator, Industrial, Commercial & Institutional Accountant and Certified Management Consultant.
