Canadian Trade & Investment Mission to Cambodia

February 14-15, 2011
Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Sector Focus: Oil & Gas Industry, Minerals, Engineering Services, Financial Services, Information and Communications Technology

The Government of Alberta, International and Intergovernmental Relations, in cooperation with the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, which is covering the Cambodia market, is supporting Alberta companies interested in participating in this mission to Cambodia.

The Cambodian market remains in its developmental stage but its rapid growth over the past decade (at times exceeding 10%), young population (>50% under the age of 25), developing infrastructure and untapped, in many cases unexplored, natural resources have led to growing interest from Asian and Western states-alike. The mission will be exploratory in nature and is intended to provide companies a balanced view of a market that is not without its challenges.

Should you be unfamiliar with Cambodia's extractive sector, you are invited to visit www.un.org.kh/undp/international-conference-on-mining where you will find materials from the spring 2010 mining conference organized by the United Nations Development Program's Phnom Penh office.

Objectives and expected results
The mission is exploratory in nature and will serve to introduce delegates to the Cambodian economy, its government, business culture and key foreign and local contacts active in the market place.

Mission Cost: CAD$250.00 per delegate. In addition, each participant is responsible for their air fare, hotel expenses and all other expenses while on the mission to Cambodia.

Registration Deadline: Friday, January 14, 2011
Payment Deadline: Friday, January 21, 2011
