Employment opportunity: EDA seeks Executive Director

A dynamic leader is sought to act as the CEO for a high profile organization in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

Building on solid outcome with an established team of professionals, and supportive Board of Directors, the Executive Director will oversee the development and implementation of strategies for economic growth for the region. The Executive Director will create and manage solid links and positive strategic relationships with key organizations and all levels of government. The successful candidate will have a solid track record as an executive manager with great staff engagement.

Candidates will possess a university degree and at least five years experience as a senior manager in fields such as economic development, business or urban geography.

We are looking for;

  • Excellence in communication, interpersonal and organization skills;
  • History of incremental experiences
  • Strong project management skills, capacity to manage multiple tasks;
  • Demonstrated initiative and leadership ability;
  • An above average comprehension of business, economic drivers and multiple stakeholder environments.

The Economic Development Alliance of Southeast Alberta (EDA) is a non-profit organization funded by the City of Medicine Hat, the Towns of Bow Island and Redcliff and the Counties of Cypress and Forty Mile. The EDA provides relevant industry knowledge and support to six key sectors; alternate energy, oil and gas, agriculture, technology and advanced manufacturing. Our goal is to position Southeast Alberta as the centre for regional economic growth through collaborative partnerships, industry growth and diversification and increasing the awareness of opportunities in our region.
