Employment Opportunity- Manager, Innovation & Scholarship

Medicine Hat College is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Manager, Innovation & Scholarship. Reporting to the Vice-President, Academic, this position will provide leadership to encourage innovation through the development of applied research and scholarly activities that support the college’s mandate and goals.

The Manager will be responsible for developing and leading the applied research strategy, establishing and implementing appropriate policies and practices, supporting academic areas in developing applied research and innovation initiatives, and assisting employees in preparing research proposals and seeking funding.  This position will also provide leadership to shape and develop the office of Innovation and Scholarship as well as foster collaboration and creativity for innovation strategies that will allow for a robust and successful program of activities.

Minimum qualifications include a graduate degree in a related field, with a Ph.D. preferred, and three to five years experience in management, policy & proposal writing, applied research, innovation or demonstration projects. Equivalent combinations of related post-secondary education and work experience will be considered. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership and organizational skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team and a sound understanding of research methodology and statistical techniques is required.
