Thanks to information technology, some 15% of Canadians are expected to work at least some of the time away from their regular office by 2010. This session will provide a general overview of this important and growing area; how telework can significantly improve the prosperity of rural communities and business by linking rural citizens with city jobs and/or labour markets. It will also present some rural success stories; general implementation tips; and describe why and how governments should be involved.
